Deemed by Duran Duran as one of the “freshest new directors” in Britain, Naeem has crafted an eclectic filmography characterised by a vibrant display of visual storytelling, electric soundtracks and cinematic imagery that make you sweat with anxiety. Both in form and content, Naeem has no interest in keeping within the boundaries of ‘acceptable cinema’, pushing the craft to embody something far more profound.
Naeem's hit coming-of-age crime drama Brash Young Turks heralded the arrival of an audacious, distinctive new visionary. His talents were recognised by Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back producer Gary Kurtz, who became his mentor in 2007. His films have been released theatrically to critical acclaim, screened at numerous international film festivals, and broadcast on AppleTV, Amazon Prime, BBC and ITV. Naeem is a graduate of the Berlinale Talents, a Virgin Media Pioneer and a Prince's Trust award winner. He was also awarded by the Mayor of London for his outstanding contribution through his film work.
